When you wish to apply for a
position or you are searching for job, You would surely need a
Curriculum Vitae. A curriculum vitae popularly called CV. Curriculum
vitae is a brief account of
a person’s education, qualifications, and previous occupations, typically sent with a job application. Most people find it very difficult to write a Good curriculum vitae. Your curriculum vitae would speak for you when you haven’t been called for the interview.

Most CVs include your
personal information, your education and qualifications, your work
experience, your interests and achievements, your skills, and
references. CV do not have set rules/format, we just need to keep it
concise.
Now to the real deal
STEPS TO WRITING A GOOD CV
1. Personal Information/Contact Details: A good CV should start with you writing your full name, residential address, age, telephone number(must be active), email
2. Education and Qualifications: (most recent first) In this section, take care to include the name of your institution, qualification with date.
Example: Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta – B.Sc Veterinary Medicine – 2009-2015
3. Work Experience:
In this section, you are expected to list your experience in
chronological order(the most recent first). Do make sure you include the
name of the company you worked for, the position you held, date (how
long you held on to that position.
Example: Coleman Company Limited, Lagos – Secretary – Sept 2015 -July 2017
4. Skills:
Here you will list your achievement and accomplishment at your previous
jobs, leadership skills demonstrated. This is also the section where you
list any of your publication and lectures you’ve given, other languages
you’ve learnt, computer skills, and any other recent training that is
relevant to the position applied for, Professional licenses and
certifications etc.
5. Interest This section should be as short as possible.
6. Reference:
This section should include the name of your referee, their title,
occupation and telephone number. Two references are OK for a good
curriculum vitae. Make sure you tell the person you want to list as your
referee before you include the name. Your former employers/lecturers
are the best to include as references. Follow the step discussed above,
you would realise that you’ve prepared a good Curriculum vitae.
